The amount of household and commercial waste that is carelessly thrown in landfills is terrifying. It's no wonder that our landfills are overflowing with perfectly usable or recyclable items that were thrown out by careless junk removal companies and busy home and business owners.

Luckily, we believe that just a little attention to detail, and a lot of love for our planet, can help reverse this trend. It was with this vision in mind that Junkluggers was founded in 2004 with the simple goal of helping home and business owners get rid of junk both sustainably and affordably.

Whether you own a large business or just have a small household, our team can visit your property and remove your junk. We'll then take your junk and donate it to local non-profits and charities. When that's not possible then we'll try to repurpose it through recycling or upcycling.

Our Owner: Megan Duffy

I was born in Toms River but grew up on a horse farm in Wall Township where I learned how to ride horses, give pony cart rides, wrangle wild bulls on occasion and take care of various types of animals and plant life. After graduating from The College of Holy Cross in Massachusetts, I started my career in advertising and marketing in NYC where, for the next 20 years, I worked hand in hand with clients on national campaigns and marketing efforts and honed my love of working with people in order to achieve the results they wanted.

In 2006, I moved back to the Jersey Shore to give my kids the life and childhood that I so loved growing up there. The idea of running my own business, one that was eco-friendly, socially responsible and focused on giving back to the community, and one that afforded me time to be more "present" with my family, was incredibly appealing.

What drew me to The Junkluggers specifically was what makes the company stand out against the competition - the absolute emphasis on delivering a higher quality of service in a way that is more environmentally conscious, giving back to the community in several ways, and the sincerity of caring about the customers and their items. As the owner, my goal is to bring this fresh way of looking at item removal to our communities, being able to offer a "second life" when possible to customer's possessions through donation, and to have my business serve as a positive example in my community!
